The Franchisee shall not been titled to an indemnity for goodwill or similar compensation in case of termination of this Contract.

In some jurisdictions goodwill indemnity may be awarded to franchisees. So, for instance, in Austria there are Supreme Court decisions which entitle the franchisee to an indemnity fpr new customers under special circumstances after cessation of the contractual relationship (analogical application of rules on commercial agency).

Consequently parties should check whether this clause would be effective under the applicable law.
