It is my honour to present the Second Edition of the Summaries of UAE Courts’ Decisions on Arbitration. The publication was prepared by recognized and dedicated arbitration practitioners who have put great time and effort into providing the arbitration community with reports and summaries in English with the aim of promoting International Arbitration.

It is not a secret that the UAE has become, over the past decade, a hub for domestic and international arbitration proving that the development of the arbitration practice is inter-related primarily and mostly to State courts’ support and rulings in favour of arbitration. This rich, carefully selected and unique handbook is not only for practitioners, it is also a concrete effort to enhance the incarnation of good arbitration practices and raise awareness of present gaps and future perspectives. As this new edition of most relevant court decisions in the UAE at both local and federal level, including the DIFC Courts, is finally released, one can only hope for a footprint in the arbitration publication world and a true support and guide for all and any party involved or interested in arbitration.

I am extremely proud of this new edition and trust it will be as successful as the first one. I would like to express my gratitude to the many talented individuals from the ICC UAE Arbitration Commission and ICC who have collaborated on this rich and unique publication.
