ICC Opinions

Hi Raymond,

After the Opions are decided upon at a Banking Commission Meeting they undergo an editing process within the ICC before they are available in 'published' form.

We include them on DC-PRO once they are edited - which we expect will be in the next couple of weeks.

signing of Charter Party Bs/L

Hi John, I do not believe the words "as agent" need not be expressly used... the following is extracted from ICC Opinion R563: When the document is signed by an agent for (or 'on behalf of') the Master, the agent must be named and must quote the name of the Master for (or 'on behalf of') w...

Issue on B/L

Non nominated Bank

It is also possible for a credit to be available with an issuing bank in one country but to expire at the counters of a bank in the country of the beneficiary. This is a different set up to the norm as expiry and availability have been separated, i.e., credit usually expires where the credit is avai...

issued at loading port

As it can be specifically seen from the document that it is not issued at the port of loading (and that it is issued somewhere else) I would very very reluctantly say it is a discrepancy. The credit asks for issued at the port... the document states something different. I cannot see any relevance in...
