determination of transhipment a/to sub-article 23(d)(i)
Hi again, Laurence, The documents were presented in one lot so the facts are: - presentation in lot - no partial shipment in the context of Art 40.b (whether such seperate b/ls issued by different carriers for the same journey should be, regardless of Art 40.b, considered as partial shipments is que...

determination of transhipment a/to sub-article 23(d)(i)
Laurence, Thanks for your comments but what about Art. 40-b? According to that, transport documents which appear on their face to indicate that shipment has been made on the same means of conveyance and for the same journey, provided they indicate the same destination, will not be regarded as coveri...

determination of transhipment a/to sub-article 23(d)(i)
Laurence, The case is the second one. On both b/ls, vessel names, ports of loading, discharge, transhipment are the same. As I mentioned in my previous message, the only reason for two seperate b/ls is that there are two carriers involved partially for the goods shipped on the same vessel(s). There ...

determination of transhipment a/to sub-article 23(d)(i)
I should give a few more details. The bills of ladings show the same vessel name and route, have the same shipment date. The reason for issuance of seperate bills of lading is that the agent signing the b/ls is acting on behalf of two different carriers for the same journey. According to Art. 23 d-i...

Counterguarantees - Iraq
Hi, the embargo against Iraq being lifted, we are now free to engage in commercial transactions with Iraqi parties. However, payment liabilities stemming from transactions effected before the embargo remain an open issue. During the embargo period, claims (pay/extend and/or banking commissions) made...

Authentication by the legalizing party
Basel I don't know the meaning of the handwritten notation in Arabic, probably a statement regarding trueness of information given but it is obviously a notation added by the Consulate, given that the copies do not have it. Jeremy, The invoices in question are issued in English. I agree with you tha...

Authentication by the legalizing party
Pavel, Thank your for your prompt reply. My first comment was just like yours. However, what ISBP Art.9 says about that is a bit different. According to this Article, corrections and alterations in docs. legalized must appear to be authenticated by the party who legalized the documents, regardless o...

Authentication by the legalizing party
Hi, L/C calls for a commercial invoice but does not request a legalization by any party. The invoices presented by the beneficiary are 1 org, 7 copies. The original carries the legalization (a signature and a stamp) of an Arabic Consulate on the back side and also a handwritten notation in Arabic on...
