Unit of quantity on packing list

Post by PhanThanhNhan » Fri Feb 05, 2010 12:00 am

Pls give your comments for the following cases:
LC requires: Packing list showing number of bundles
- Both invoice and packing list show quantity in PIECE, not in BUNDLES.
.
So, is that packing list acceptable?
.
And generally, if packing list showing quantity in different unit from that required in L/C, is it acceptable?

I believe that each situition will differ. An inv. and p/l showing pieces vrs bundles should not be a discrepancy unless there is something in the LC or the other documents that reflect that the pieces were bundled. In example, 1,000 screws shipped in boxes of 50 screws each. The bundles here are the boxes. However, 1,000 chairs shipped and stowed in a 40' container would be acceptable because the chairs were obviously not bundled together with each other.
