On board notation

Post by Shahed » Thu Sep 15, 2011 1:00 am

I recall in Article 23 a ii of UCP500, if B/L shows a Place of Receipt different from Port of loading, the on board notating has to indicate the port of loading (as indicated in L/C), date and the name of vessel.

Does this requirement also apply in UCP600 ?

Article 20 a. iii. requires that examiners to ensure the shipment left from the required port of loading. If any doubt exists you should have the On Board notation reflect the vessel left from the LC required port of loading.

On board notation

Dear,
I hereby quote the respective portion of OBN recommendation paper: [in point 5 conclusion part (b)]
"where the bill of lading indicates a place of receipt that is different from the port of loading i.e., place of receipt Amsterdam and port of loading Rotterdam BUT there is
NO indication of a means of pre-carriage (either in the pre-arriage field or the place of receipt field) then:

(i) if the bill of lading is pre-printed shipped on board, the date of issue will be deemed to be the date of shipment and no further on board notation is required;
(ii) if the bill of lading is pre-printed received for shipment, a dated on board notation will be required and the date appearing in the notation will be deemed to be the date of shipment. "
.
Hence requirement is slightly different as compare to UCP 500.
