A letter of credit calls of a
" packing list included qaulity, quantity and packing". Signed PL was submitted with a certification that quallty & quantity of goods are as per proforma....... as detailed in field 45A of the LC.
The confirming bank raised a discrepancy "PL not showing quality of goods". We strongly rejected. What would be your esteemed view please? thanks

The credit said absolutely nothing about how the quality of the goods had to be expressed. Therefore, any statement of any kind regarding the quality of the goods would meet the credit terms. Thus, saying the quality of the goods is per the proforma invoice complies with the requirement that the PL ‘includes’ the quality of the goods.
