Is E & O E a discrepancy?

I would like to seek yr advice on this query:-

Invoice presented to us bore the following clause at the bottom 'E & O E' . All documents were in order.

Issuing bank reverted to us treating the above clause as discrepant. Is it correct?

stands for errors amd ommissions excepted. Such expression has been used for years. Provided invoice complies with l/c terms it is not discrepant. The issuing bank is being stupid and is simply inventing a discrepancy
