I have an L/C for a client in the textile trade. One of the documents required is a 'Certificate of Origin(Textile
Products)'.
When the documents were presented a 'certificate of origin' was presented. (no mention of 'textile products') Can we consider this a discrepancy?
Is the 'textile products' bit a throwback to the days of quotas.
Should we be accepting C of O's as presented (as per ISBP 196)?

Certificate of Origin
Certificate of Origin
If there is the request for a certificate of origin(textile products), there should be a relation to the phrase TEXTILE PRODUCTS in the text of the C/O, the title itself does not constitute to have an official C/O, so it might be issued by the beneficiary. If there is not relation in the document to the required point (Textile products), i would see this document discrepant.

Certificate of Origin
Peter
There are several certificate of origin and each one should be titled as per credit conditions, i.e.
- certificate of origin
- certificate of origin for textile products
- certificate of origin GSP form A
So, even if all of them are certificate of origin they clearly must indicate the adequate wording since their function vary form one to the other
