Use of different words for package

Hello,
in Germany fowarders normally use the word 'colli' in the meaning of package. As we have a L/C that says: All documents to be issued in pure english, the bank said the word colli is not typical english word and therefore not acceptale under the L/C. Please let me have, if there are any, your experiences. Is the word 'colli' unacceptable, also when it is usually used by the most forwarders.

I know the word "colli" which means packages but it's an Italian word

Dear Gerhard,

Just imagine if all this energy dedicated to invent new innovative discrepancies was in fact used for improving the documentary credit instrument for the benefit of the buyers and sellers!

To me “Colli” is a standard term used in documents issued in English language – generally understood by the relevant people who speak English.

You're right, "collo" is an Italian word

You're right, it is used in English
What is not right is to raise a discrepancy for such a thing. Are people aware of consequences?
