Shipping details

When a L/C requires a presentation of beneficiaries copy of a fax advising shipping details, what should be the minimum requirement for shipping details to be stated? Is a document without showing the name of the vessel and the date of shipment acceptable?

I do not believe there is a minimum requirement in terms of specific data that must be present; to me this document falls within sub-Article 14(f). In my opinion a document that did not show the name of the vessel and the date of shipment would be compliant provided it showed other ‘shipping details’.

It would seem to me that the document need only appear to meet the conditions of the requirement and not conflict with the terms of the contract or the other documents. Having said that bit of nonsense, with the requirements so vague you can argue the document complies provided it says something about the shipment.
