Shipping Certificate

Anthony,

Provided that the agent has actually stated that is signing for the (named) carrier then I cannot see any grounds for considering it non-compliant.

Dear Anthony,

Although I agree with Jeremy, but frankly speaking, having seen some Middle Eastern practices to abide by the so called “doctrine of strict compliance”, if you are a negotiating bank, I would recommend that you get such a shipping certificate “repaired” and ask beneficiary to present a shipping certificate signed by Carrier , even if the certificate is signed by Agent for and on behalf of Carrier even though rightly and rightfully.

Don't take a chance.
