Endorsement on Bills of Exchange

Bill of Exchange signed by the drawer, XXX drawn on issuing bank, YYY and instruct PAY TO THE ORDER OF ZZZ (beneficiary's bank/negotiating bank).

Is it required by ZZZ bank to endorse the B/E and then forward it to the issuing bank ?
