Hi ,

We have received a AWB , which
states "Charter Flight". Is there anything as such known as Charter Party AWB?For Bill of Lading unless the LC states otherwise ,Charter Party B/L is not acceptable. However for AWB there is no such limitation in UCP500/600.
Is it safe to assume that for Air Shipments there is no restriction on Chartered Crafts/Planes?

Your thoughts on the above please.

Srinivas

Srinivas,
Yes in my opinion. As long as AWB complies with art. 23 that is, inter alia, shows the name of the carrier and is signed by carrier or its agent unlike the C/P B/L (owner and so on)

Srinivas,
I agree with Daniel.As long the doc.complies with UCP's art.it is ok.
If, anyhow, you look for a definition, this is one:
"Charter airlines operates aircrafts on a charter basis, that is flights that take place outside normal scheduled,by a hiring arrangement with a particular customer. Most scheduled airline companies also operate charter flights but aren't considered or classified as charter airlines" Wikipedia states.
