According to Article 20 aii, the date of shipment in the on board notation will be deemed to be the date of shipment if the B/L had both the issue date and a dated on board notation.
Per paragraph 13 of ISBP, transport document must be dated even not mention in the LC.
If we have a B/L with the issue date missing but contains a prepinted on board notation with a shipment date, could we accept this B/L or quote the discrepancy "B/L not bearing an issuing date"?
Thanks

Raymond,
My personal opinion is that there is not any requirement for a BL to have an issue date separate from any on board statement (whether pre-printed or in the form of a 'notation').
I would regard the OBN as being the date of the BL.

Dear Raymond,
You can argue both ways. I think that this issue will be addressed next week at the BC meeting in Paris – so perhaps better to way for the answer till after that one
Bets regards
Kim

Thank you both Jeremy and Kim.
It would be quite an interesting coincident that similar topic would be discussed in Paris in the coming week.
