hi there.
i see you are discussing important issues, such as confirmation.well,
i have a very small problem:
i have an l/c asking for "original fcr".bnf presented one original fcr stating that has been issued in 3 originals.i think bnf should present the full set of fcr.am i right ?
thanks in advance.

Dear Bogdan,

It would in any case have been nice to have all 3 – but I do not think you can require this based on the UCP 500. The FCR is covered by article 21 – so the LC should have been more precise if a “full set” was needed. In this case you have received what the LC required.

Best regards
Kim

dear khalid,
i don't think 20c(ii) is applicable.
furthermore, even if a fcr is issued in one or more originals, doesn't matter how many originals are presented because one original is enough. l/c states "original fcr" only.nothing else.
kim is right. should i care about the other 2 originals ? what happens to them ? the fcr only certify that the f.forwarder took the goods into custody for delivery to the loading place and that the goods are holded at applicant's disposal.

No – actually Khalid is right and I am wrong (yes summer it is :-)

See ISBP para 32: “… where the document itself states how many originals have been issued, the number stated on the document”.

My apologies.

Dear Bodgan,
No offence taken, we are all here for the common ambition of sharing our experiences. To me difference of opinion is a sign of healthy minds.
In fact I just retuned from an enjoyable vacation & looking forward to see some fire in the forum with a rejuvenated Jeremy.
