"A bill of lading, however named, must appear to: indicate that the goods have been shipped at the port of loading stated in the credit...."

We need clarification as when we issue letters of credit port of lading is stated sometimes as "any chinese port " and the specific port of loading is not specified.

Is this in contradiction to the above captioned article?

No it is not. Refer to ISBP para 83. I'm quoting below the paragraph:

If a credit gives a geographical area or range of ports of loading and/or discharge (e.g. "Any European Port"), the bill of lading must indicate the actual port of loading and/or discharge, which must be within the geographical area or range quoted.
