LC requirement :
1. Cert to certify the age of vesel not more than 25 years issued by corresponding shipping co or its agent.
2. Chartered party B/L acceptable.

Situation:
Chartered party B/L signed by ABC as agent on behalf of master XYZ submitted.
I would like to have expert's view whether the signing capacity of the vesse cert is same as CPL (i.e. signed by ABC as agent for an on behald of master XYZ) can complied with the DC's requirement or not. if we focus on the wording of "corresponding shipping co or its agent", can the cert signed by agent of master, master, or charterer or agent of chartered is accetable. How can it complied with the DC requirement. (i.e. corresponding shipping co or its agent.)

I would accept the signing. Agent for the Master can certify to the vessel's age.

Hi,

Document checker is not a robot. The focus should be on the word “corresponding”. The party that signed the certificate is corresponding with the one that signed the C/P, hence, the certificate signed by ABC as agent for or on behalf of master XYZ is deemed to be complying with L/C requirements.

Best regards,
