Dear all,
By default UCP 600 art. 14 c makes clear that documents should be presented not later than 21 calendar days after the date of shipment. Furhtermore there are definitions of "from" in article 3 in respect of shipment periods and maturity dates. It would be interesting to hear you view concerning the presentation period, whether you would start the 21-days calculation after the date of shipment or whether you would include the shipment date in the 21 days where an L/C explicitly states 21 days from the date of shipment.
Looking forward to receiving your opinions and best regards

Presentation of documents within 21 days from the date of sh
Dear Marianne,
I have to wonder if an L/C that explicitly states 21 days from the date of shipment is grammatically correct. Anyway, whatever the position, I think it would be completely bonkers -to coin an every day banking expression- to include the date of shipment. To put the matter beyond doubt ask yourself how would you interpret the provision if it said 1 (one) day (rather than 21 days) from date of shipment.
Hope all is well with you.
Regards, Jeremy

Marianne,
In Docdex 210, there is a story about documents which were received 22 days FROM the date of dispatch (i.o. 21 days OF the date of dispatch). They were actually received 22 days AFTER the date of dispatch according to the arithmetic book.
Better ask the issuer to clarify
