L/C is payable 90 days from B/L date.
The B/L presented indicates an on board date prior to B/L issue date.
Would you calculate the maturity as from the B/L issue date or the on board date?
Thanks
Antoine

ISBP Pub 681 paragraph 43 c provides that quote if the tenor refers to XXX days after B/L date the on board date is deemed to be the B/L date even if the on board date is prior to or later than the date of issuance of B/L unquote

Actually, an L/C should not require "90 days from B/L date" but "90 days from shipment date" and this is valid for all transport documents awb included. That would make life easier.

you are right
however,if l/c requires for awb
and the terms are "90 days form
awb date" and there is an notation
for the actual flight date ?
the ucp 600 does not mention this
case (nor the isbp)

I note that 23(a)(iii) says the date of issuance will be deemed to be the date of shipment unless the air transport document contains a specific notation of the actual date of shipment.

Anyway, if you only have a date of issuance surely, by definition, this is the only date on which the due date can be calculated?
