On board notation

LC calls for a marine BL covering shipment from Port A to Port B with transshipment allowed.
A 'received for shipment' BL is presented showing :
Place of Receipt: 'A'
Precarriage: m/v 'X'
Port of loading: 'A' i.e. same as the place of receipt
Vessel: m/v 'Y'
Port of discharge: 'B'
The on board notation added on the BL does not show any vessel's name.
May we consider that the on board notation refers implicitely to the pre-carriage vessel X and in the affirmative how can you explain that loading and transshipment are effected at the same port A ?
.
