Masters Nam on BL

Post by jsheehan » Tue Mar 20, 2012 12:00 am

Is it a discrepancy or not, is my question. A CP BL which states the Masters name as part of the BL particulars, i.e., shipped on the vessel...Master...
Down below where the BL is signed, it is signed by XYZ Company as Agent for the Master....
The Masters name in the BL Particulars is spelled "Bhushan". The Masters name in the BL signature is spelled 'Brushan". To me, it is an obvious typo and in the fact, according to the UCP, the Masters name is not even required to be mentioned as part of the Agents signature. What does the group think? Discrepancy or not?

Thanks for the input.

You will find some guidance in Docdex 205. In my opinion as the "two" names refer to the same master. it would be OK. Other comments would nevertheless be appreciated.
