ISBP Para.190 (dates of insurance document)

Post by TStepanovs » Wed Sep 07, 2005 1:00 am

A Cargo Insurance Policy covering all Risks as per Institute of London Underwriters ICC (A) Cl.252 dd. 01/01/82. and indicating coverage period from 11.08.2005 till 23.08.2005 has been presented under a letter of credit. No further information is given whether 23.08.2005 relates to the latest date of loading on board or not.

Is the document discrepant taking into consideration Para.190 of ISBP and Official Opinion R234 - 1995/96 which describes very similar situation and considers insurance document being acceptable.

regards,
Timofejs.

P.S. L/C requires presentation of "insurance policy for 110 PCT of CIF value covering all risks".

Seems that no one is willing to take up their pencil (or computer) to reply, so ...
Actually I think that the opinion of the ICC which you quoted seems to cover the problem clearly and would be interpreted as considering the insurance certificate as complying, all other things being equal.
Good luck
