Blank Endorsement

Post by jennyloi » Tue Oct 23, 2001 1:00 am

Insurance policy is required under the credit to be blank endorsed. Beneficiary chose to sign it on the face instead of on the reverse of the policy.

Are we correct in insisting the beneficiary to sign it on the reverse?

Thank you for yr advice.

Blank Endorsement

We have never heard of a local law to restrict the endorsement only to be done on the reverse side of an negotiable instrument.

Neither does the UCP 500 as this appears to be a legal issue, nor does the MIA (Marine Insurance Act of UK) upon which most insurance legislations are based.
