Bill of Lading - Urgent
Posted: Tue May 13, 2003 1:00 am
LC calls for full set of clean "on board" ocean bills of lading - with shipment from any European Port
Port of discharge is mentioned as XX via AA
(XX being an inland container depot in Country Y)
We received the bill of lading (named as ocean bill of lading) with the following -
From (through transport) Ponte S Marco
Port of Loading : La Spezia,European Port
Port of discharge : XX via AA Port
Bill of lading presented states " Received for shipment in apparent external
good order and condition..... "
There is no reference to any substitute or feeder vessel
Also the Bill of Lading states Clean on Board as additional typed letters with a date and signature
in the box for date / signature at the bottom of the in the vicinity of the signature
My question is :
1. In view of the LC inherently covering multimodal transport despite ocean bills of lading in the documents required :
2. Would a multimodal transport document be acceptable in the form of ocean bill of alding ( however named)
and
3. if so, would a received for shipment be adequate for the same.,
4. Bill of lading has two pages in line with ISBP and page 2 (only page 1 is signed) states Loading in charge La Spezia
European Port for transportation to XX via AA under LC no. ......
Could you please advise whether the BIll of Lading is acceptable for negotiation.
