Transshipment clause in B/L

Hi all,
L/C shows the following clause:
transhipments are permitted, except country a, country b....
If the B/L would show only 'transhipment effected', would this be acceptable under L/C.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Dear Gerhard,
you didn't write if this clause is stated under docs required (b/l) or under additional condition.

This clause is included under required document under the point for the required B/L specially, so it is a clause for B/L issuance.

Hi Gerhard,

How can a BL say ”transhipment effected”? I would think that the BL would be issued prior to transhipment.

In any case I would not require a statement on the BL that goods are not to be transhipped at the ports mentioned – except where the LC requires that specifically.
So it would be fine for me if the BL was silent to the transhipment port(s) (as in your scenario) – or would mention some other ports than prohibited by the LC.

Best regards
Kim

Dear Gerhard,
As long as b/l doesn't evidence in one way or another that transhipment took place through one of countries A or B or . ..is ok.
the l/c doesn't require for this information to be clearly shown by the b/l, but only indicates that transhipment must not be effected through that countries.
