Hi all
I have a topic on gross weight inconsistency. Please give me your opinions on the following issue:
+ F46A of the L/C requiring B/L, C/O, P/L and others.
+ Commodity: equipment
The beneficiary presented the documents with B/L and others showing inconsistent gross weight: (B/L shows gross weight: 20587.6KG, other documents show gross weight: 20587.65kg)
Is there the discrepancy "B/L shows gross weight inconsistent with other documents"? (basing on Article 14 of UCP 600 which states “Data in a document, when read in context with the credit must not conflict with with, data in that document, any other stipulated document or the credit” (Sub Article 14 (d))
Kindly give me your comments on this topic as soon as possible. Thanks all

Gross weight shown on B/L differs from other docx
Still no reply but still waiting...
I think there should be an opinion that the gross weight have been rounded off on the B/L. But is there any rule to round the data on the documents that can be acceptable? And how about precious goods (for example: gold, platin, diamond etc) that can be priced basing on weight (net weight is the same as gross weight?), in these cases weight can not be rounded even a very minor number.

Rounding is not a discrepancy. It never has been. SOme companies round up and some down. I refer you to Official Opinion R218 - 1995/96.
