Documents on approval under a D/P confirmed L/C

Dear all

The beneficiaries of a DP L/C submit the documents to the confirming Bank after its expiry date with instructions to present them for approval by the issuing bank within the scope of art 14 d of the UCP. Is the confirmer bound to provide its D/P undertaking when the documents are accepted by the issuing bank.
