ISP98 - ARTICLE 9.01

Dear Sirs,

We would like to have your opinion about article 9.01 of international standby practices ISP98 (ICC publication No.590).

A standby letter of credit subject to ISP98 contains:
1. an expiry date
2. a condition stating that standby letter of credit expires upon receipt by issuer of beneficiary's agreement to cancel it

Which of the two items prevail over the other one?
