quantity description

A documentarty credit require
1000 metric tons to be shipped.
The invoices presented showed 1000 tne instead of mt or metric tons. The beneficiary claims that tne is a international accepted standard for metric tons. Is the document with tne as description for mt acceptable under a Credit?

The right thing to do here is to require the beneficiary to correct/re-issue the invoices
