Surrendered B/L

Post by JudithAutié » Sun Mar 13, 2011 12:00 am

A B/L has been presented with the mention "surrendered B/L" typed in above the signature of the agents.

What would be the problems which could arise with such a B/L?

Thanks

Surrendered B/L

I did forget to point out that the full set of originals had been presented, and was fully complying with the requirements of article 19 except for the mention of "surendered B/L"

Surrendered B/L

Judith,

There has already been a (lenghty) discussion about "surrendered B/L" in this forum
I do not know if there is something new. Best thing is to ask carrier/Shipowner

Surrendered B/L

I seem to have missed that discussion, and can't find it, but will keep looking. What I really wanted to see was what basis in the UCP was used to refuse the B/L

Thanks anyway

Surrendered B/L

The title of the discussion was "surrendered BL" without the "/" which we know "may have different meanings": -) and there is nothing in the UCP or anywhere else to reject such a B/L.
