The application of paragraph A3 ISBP745

Post by AndyHunt » Mon Oct 24, 2016 1:00 am

I would value the opinion of members on the following point.
Paragraph A3 ISBP745 requires statements to be signed and this is expanded on by paragraph A5 ISBP745.
Therefore if a credit, not uncommonly, were to require presentation of 'Packing list stating that the goods are packed in five cartons' would members consider that the document required a signature to be compliant?
Many thanks

Packing lists are typically not signed. I expect the use of the word "stating" is meant to clearly show, express, be definite that the goods "are packed in five cartons". I would not take this as a requirement for a statement to this effect, only that from the documents it is determined that all goods are in 5 cartons. As such, I would not be looking for a signature.
