Note: To stay execution of a judgment in the amount of US$1,458,639 entered against it, American Spring Wire Corp. (Judgment Debtor) moved for approval of a standby letter of credit in the amount of $1,750,367 with an expiry date of 28 Feb. 2012. DP Concrete Products, LLC (Judgment Creditor) objected that the amount was inadequate and the expiry date was too early. The local rule of the court required that a supersedeas bond be in the amount of the judgment plus 20% of the amount to cover interest, costs, and any award of damages for delay unless otherwise directed by the court. The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Minaldi, J., ordered that the standby would serve to stay execution if the amount was increased to $1,979,156 and the expiry date extended to July 28, 2013.
