In 2023, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP) supported over EUR 450 million of new trade transactions for crucial goods and services for the Ukrainian economy, a 39% increase from February-December 2022.
According to EBRD data reported to DCW, the TFP increased the number of Ukrainian corporates it supports through its partner banks by 15% to over 50. As local businesses adjusted to the war, the TFP increased its support of investment goods including machinery for production to improve farming capabilities to over EUR 42 million, a 66% increase from 2022. In addition to companies continuing to operate without trade finance banking lines, millions of Ukrainian citizens have had difficulties accessing credit. In 2023, with its guarantees the TFP supported around EUR 70 million in credit card transactions which were completed through the Ukrainian financial sector.
