Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), in cooperation with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI), has launched a programme to offer exporters listed on SET or MAI special benefits when using EXIM Thailand's services.

Special offers are available for a year, and include preferential rates for negotiating letter of credit (L/C) deals as well as reduced rate financing facilities and export credit insurance.

Export boost

According to EXIM Thailand's Senior Executive Vice President, Thira Wipuchanin, the main objective of this program is to provide exporters listed on SET or MAI with an alternative source of funds that could help reduce their financial costs, increase liquidity and enable them to offer more competitive deals.

The special offers last for one year, from 9 April 2003 to 30 April 2004.

Benefits

Exporters participating in the programme may receive special rates for banking services, including negotiation of export bills with L/C coverage or those with sight term of payment.

Other benefits for exporters include financing facilities, including reduced interest rates and fees for the bank's Pre-Shipment Financing Facility (Baht, US Dollar, and Yen), Term Loan for Business Expansion, Merchant Marine Financing Facility and Exporter Supplier's Credit.

Credit insurance

Exporters participating in the programme may also receive special rates for export credit insurance, including foreign buyers and buyers' banks risk assessment plus free debt collecting advisory services. They can also benefit from EXIM Thailand's debt collecting network, which the bank says will cost exporters less than if they collect their own debts.
