Trade Technologies, which claims to be the world's largest provider of outsourced trade document services and software, has announced the opening of an office in Seattle.

It will be the fourteenth operations office worldwide and the tenth in North America for the company that was established in 1999.

L/C services

According to Trade Technologies, its web-based platform and outsourced services provide over 1,200 exporters globally with accelerated receipt of international payments under L/Cs and other trade payment mechanisms.

Its patented Global Trade Management Platform automates the creation and electronic delivery of UCP600 compliant L/Cs documents to some of the world's largest global trade banks.

The software aims to eliminate discrepancies, lower transaction costs and enhance reporting for exporters.

Asian focus

Seattle is perceived by Trade Technologies as an important US export centre to Asia, according to its CEO, Kirk Lundburg.

He says the new office will serve the Pacific Northwest as well the major cities of the Midwest and East Coast in the US as well as Canada,
