A company that provides applications for managing the entire lifecycle of domestic and international trades has been selected as one of the top 100 IT providers for 2004 by a leading logistics magazine.

TradeBeam's selection is in part due to the way this relatively new company has managed to integrate the management of trade finance tools, including letters of credit (L/Cs) with other aspects of logistics management.

Integrated approach

Essentially, TradeBeam's IT applications claim to manage all aspects of domestic and international trade from initial order, through logistics and settlement activities in a process that the company says provides clients with improved operating efficiencies and working capital.

The integrated approach clearly impressed members of the Inbound Logistics Magazine editorial team specifically searching out companies providing logistics IT solutions for their readers.

Impressive growth

Editor Felecia Stratton says the team that selected TradeBeam sees the "combined offering of trade compliance, inventory management, shipment tracking and event management integrated with trade finance tools like L/Cs and invoice management as the key to their success."

"TradeBeam is proving that a unique and comprehensive solution can drive significant growth even in a weak economy. Growing from a handful of customers to over 3000 in under 3 years with clients such as Dell, Cisco, General Motors Holden, Nieman Marcus, and Liz Claiborne is impressive," she adds.

Added value

According to TradeBeam's vice president of marketing and business development, Duncan Jackson, the company's solutions help "add value to the entire order life cycle including purchase order management, total landed cost modelling, shipment visibility as well as supporting security regulations and trade compliance."
