An organisation charged with providing information technology infrastructure services for China's Ministry of Commerce and rolling out e-government services across China says it has struck a 10 year strategic partnership with TradeBeam of the US to bring its global trade management (GTM) software to the Chinese market.

China International Electronic Commerce Company (CIECC) plans to market and sell TradeBeam's software solution to over one million businesses in China using its sales organisation in 100 offices throughout China, according to a statement issued by the US company.

Integrated solutions

TradeBeam's integrated solutions include import and export compliance, inventory management, shipment tracking, supply chain event management and global trade finance solutions such as open account and letter of credit (L/C) management.

"We selected TradeBeam after a very careful review and strict selection process," says general director, CEO and chairman of CIECC, Junsheng Liu, who says he is optimistic that the partnership "will propel both China and TradeBeam ahead of [other providers] around the world".

Automated L/Cs

TradeBeam, which was founded in the midst of the dotcom boom in May 2000, claims to provide global trade finance solutions including open account and L/Cs, as well as other solutions, to more than 1,800 customers in more than 100 countries.

The company says it is making significant advances in the field of global trade settlement solutions, while its L/C solutions claim to manage as well as automate transactions involving documentary credits. (DC World News, 10 August 2004).
