Early morning, October 24, Ole Malmqvist, renowned Danish trade banker, died from head injuries incurred due to a fall on September 27 while riding his bicycle on the pier near his home.

Malmqvist, recently retired from Danskebank, was a quiet yet significant presence in the world of trade banking. Participating actively in the Banking Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce since at least 1992, Ole served on several international task forces and working groups, including the Uniform Rules for Bank to Bank Reimbursements (URR 525), the UCP 600 drafting group, and served as co-chair of the ISBP working group. A soft-spoken yet powerful voice in the banking industry has stilled.

His wife, Anne, passed along the following message to all: "Please tell everyone that Ole was leading a fun and full life right up to the second he fell, and that's what everyone should do. Lead your lives to the hilt ... because you don't know how long you will have them."
